A Routine Friction Map asks where a practice becomes difficult to reach: remembering, preparing, beginning, continuing, finishing or restarting.

Unlike a habit score, the result does not rank the routine or predict whether it will last. It points to the first stage worth examining so you can change one piece instead of redesigning everything.

No single stage stands out yet

Several stages sometimes catch. Mark “often where it stops” only where that description fits.

02 / Use the result

Change the earliest heavy stage first

A difficult finish can make tomorrow’s preparation harder; an unclear beginning can make a perfectly good routine feel unavailable. Start with the earliest stage marked “often where it stops” and make one adjustment small enough to test.

If the trouble appears after a gap, use the restart ladder. If setup, travel or tracking is the larger issue, calculate the work around the routine.

Method and limits

The six stages are a Welnific editorial framework for inspecting ordinary lifestyle routines. This is not a validated assessment, behaviour-change prescription or measure of motivation. It does not account for health conditions, disability, safety, access or structural constraints. Entries are not transmitted or stored. Corrections: hello@welnific.com.
