Support within reach

Stand, shift and reach—gently.

A brief standing sequence for changing position without treating the break as a balance test or workout.

A standing movement break can use four simple cues: stand with support nearby, shift weight side to side, reach one arm at a time and lift the heels only as far as comfortable.

Clear the floor and keep support close.

Use a steady desk, counter or chair that will not roll. Keep both feet where they feel dependable. If standing does not feel comfortable today, the seated sequence is already a complete alternative.

Let the guide suggest, not command.

Each cue lasts twenty seconds. Make the movement smaller, slower or skip ahead whenever that suits you better.

Smaller still counts.

A weight shift may be barely visible. A reach can stop below shoulder height. Heel lifts can become a gentle transfer towards the front of the feet. The guide does not know your space or body; your comfort sets the range.
