Choose by context

More than one way for movement to count.

A movement menu keeps several small options available so one disrupted plan does not become no movement at all.

A movement menu is a short list organized by the conditions of real life: time, place, support, company and inclination. It replaces one ideal routine with a few honest options.

For a small space.

Walk gently in place, let the arms swing, take a small step to either side and return to an easy stance. Make sure the floor is clear and every step feels stable.

Small-space movementFour cues, twenty seconds each.

For a route you already know.

The walking pause is deliberately unambitious: begin at an easy pace, keep the route simple, look where you are going and slow before stopping. Do not follow the screen while walking; listen to the timer only where that is safe.

Scope and method
