A Meal Shortlist is a small memory aid for meals you already accept. It sorts options by the work they ask of today instead of by an ideal weekly menu.
Do not search for new recipes while building it. Begin with evidence: what you already make, assemble or obtain during ordinary weeks.
The tool turns the shortlist part of the decision-light kitchen into something you can use immediately.
01 / Three effort lanes
Name the work, not the virtue
Very little setup
Combine, open, reheat or obtain—using your own definition of manageable.
A contained task
Some active preparation, with a clear end and acceptable cleanup.
For willing days
Meals that ask for more time, attention, steps or cleanup.
These labels describe workload only. They do not rank a meal's quality. Change the category whenever the work changes in your kitchen.
02 / Your Meal Shortlist
Start with what you have already chosen before
Name up to eight meals. Your entries stay in this page and are not submitted or stored.
03 / Use the result
Choose a lane before choosing a meal
On a crowded evening, decide how much work is available first. Then look only at that lane. This turns “What should I eat?” into the smaller question “Which of these workable options fits?”
If one lane stays empty, do not fill it for symmetry. The gap tells you something useful about the choices currently available. Add an option only when it has already proved itself in real life.
Scope and method
The Meal Shortlist is a Welnific editorial planning tool for ordinary household decisions. It does not assess nutritional adequacy, allergies, food safety, medical diets or individual health needs. No result is calculated, transmitted or stored. Corrections: hello@welnific.com.
