The least structured option
One minute with nothing to finish.
A short pause can be useful as a boundary even when it does not produce calm, clarity or a better mood.
To take a one-minute pause, stop adding input and let the minute remain mostly unassigned. You may sit, stand, look around or do nothing in particular.
Start with less instruction.
There is no posture to arrange and no thought to remove. Let the timer carry the ending so you do not have to keep checking the clock.
Quiet minuteOne timer. Three spare prompts.
What makes it a pause?
The useful distinction is not complete stillness. It is a temporary reduction in demands. A sip of water, looking out of a window or standing by the desk can belong inside the minute.
If the pause becomes a test of whether you can clear your mind, it has acquired a job it did not need.
Use an edge that already exists.
Try the minute after closing a call, before opening a new document or once the kettle has been switched on. An existing transition is easier to notice than another reminder to maintain.
